Prescriptions & Lab Results

Why do I need to make an appointment for a prescription refill?

Follow-up visits allow your physician to evaluate whether your current medication is effectively managing your condition. If the treatment is not working optimally, your doctor may need to adjust the dosage or explore alternative options. Regular check-ins are a key part of safe, effective care. Call (770) 777-0750 - Cumming Office or (770) 777-0750 - Alpharetta Office to schedule a refill appointment.

What is your refill policy?

During your visit, your physician will prescribe enough refills to last until your next scheduled appointment. If you run out of refills before your next visit, you must schedule an appointment for an evaluation. We do not call in refills for narcotics or controlled substances under any circumstances. For complete details, please refer to our Prescription Policy.

How long does it take to receive my lab results?

Results for most routine lab tests are reviewed by our physicians within 24 to 48 hours. If you have a Patient Portal account, your results will be available to you as soon as your physician has reviewed them. If you have not received results within one week, please contact us at (770) 777-0750 - Cumming Office or (770) 777-0750 - Alpharetta Office and we will follow up with the lab on your behalf.

How do I set up a Patient Portal account?

Under current healthcare regulations, all providers are required to offer online access to patient medical records. We encourage all patients to create a Patient Portal account to review lab results, request appointments, prescription refills, and referrals, and send secure messages to your care team at any time. To get started, call (770) 777-0750 - Cumming Office or (770) 777-0750 - Alpharetta Office and a staff member will assist you with setting up your account.

Can I request my lab results by mail?

We no longer mail lab results by default. Results are made available through your Patient Portal account once reviewed by your physician. If you require mailed results, please notify our office in advance and we can make that arrangement for you.

What should I bring to my appointment?

Please bring a valid photo ID, your insurance card, a list of any current medications and supplements, and any relevant medical records or test results from other providers. New patients should also complete our new patient intake forms prior to their visit — these are available online through our portal or can be obtained by calling (770) 777-0750 - Cumming Office or (770) 777-0750 - Alpharetta Office .

Why do I need a physical exam?

A preventive physical exam helps identify chronic conditions like high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol before they become serious — even when you feel perfectly fine. Routine physicals allow your doctor to catch anything abnormal early and create a proactive health plan tailored to your needs.
